WORKSHOP 3D, Architects

MLWgc‘s association with WORKSHOP 3D began with its inception and was focused on projects related to retail and office tenant improvements. There are many listed on this website.

The initial build out at WORKSHOP 3D consisted of the restoration of the main storefront, construction of a new back room, paint, carpet, rubber flooring, bathroom fixtures, interior concrete block feature walls, a transom window at the entry, and a dropped soffit that organized the space, including new lighting and ceiling fans.

Subsequent improvements included the opening up of a previously sealed up part of the storefront with new sash and glazing, including leveling of the concrete floor behind the storefront, and the adaptive re-use of an existing street mural as shutters for the new storefront.

An entirely new storefront was constructed after the previous glass was all shattered in 1991 during the worst storm since Seattle’s Thanksgiving Day Storm of 1983. The canopy was constructed as a collaboration with the Principal of WORKSHOP 3D, Ray C. Freeman III.
